So, please let the death notice go. There probably won't be one. Some time later, there may be a notification of a memorial service or something, but right now, the sister has more than her share of grief just bringing her sister back to Virginia.

You're probably right. Everything cost money these days.

Not only that, but Lucia's family was divided. She came from an abusive situation; both the sisters did. It may very well be that her sister doesn't want their father to know. It may not be right in some of our eyes, but I can understand it. This isn't about what WE want (lawsuits...

Thank you, but I'm not going to do this. I feel it's up to family to arrange this and not me. I've said my goodbye in my own way. It's now time for me to move on from this and heal. Many of you to don't know this, but I lost my Dad two years ago to cancer. The anniversary of his death...

The facts are these per the investigator and autopsy: Her body was found approximately one week after her death. The autopsy found that she died of carbon monoxide poisoning; she asphyxiated on the fumes. Her sister is planning to have Lucia cremated and bring her ashes to Virginia to...

It's already been done. That's how they figured out cause of death.

That might seem like common sense, but although she was bright, she was also very child like. I honestly don't think she took into consideration how dangerous gas stoves were. She had recently moved, so it's possible she had never used a gas stove before.

Regardless of how passionate we feel about this, I don't think the Sister is going to file a suit against the management of the apartment building. I think all she wants to do is bring closure to this by bring Lucia's ashes to Virginia, so she can sprinkle them on their Mother's grave. I can...

I didn't think of that, either. But, from what I learned, the investigator tracked down the note and it was learned maintenance seemed unaware of the request.

I checked It didn't as far as I can tell. I've been monitering both the local newspapers in San Antonio where she lived, and, in her home town of Milwaukee. Nothing. Not even a death notice.

I need to clear up something.... From what I understand, Lucia made the request for maintenance to come and fix her heater the day she died. She came home, turned the burners on, and probably fell asleep. As I stated, maintenance never showed up. That's one screw up, and, you guys are right...

Nothing criminal. There was a death investigation, but the coroner ruled the death as accidental. As I understand it, Lucia's body will be released to her sister soon and she will be cremated. Once she is, her sister plans to travel to Virginia and sprinkle Lucia's ashes on her Mother's grave.

That's a call only the sister can make. I don't know that she will.

I don't fault Lucia for her actions at all, but what I really am upset about is that she had friends that should have checked on her. Her sister lives in California, but Lucia had people around her in San Antonio. Why no one bothered to check on her before a week went by, I will never...
