I meant, I never know when to bring my hearing up, when I meet people, I like to wait a bit to see if they speak clearly, then I don't have to, but if they don't I'm spending more time concentrating on what they say so I don't get a chance to tell them. One-to-one (or more) conversation in a quiet place is mostly ok, but pubs/crowded noisy shops/outside in the wind is a lot worse. It's not very consistent for me, often I'm fine following what's said and other times it's extremely difficult.

Yes, I've read that about a CI. As deafdude said in one of my threads, I can hear better unaided than someone with a CI. Of course, you can never really know what someone else hears like. I will read your CI blog so I don't ask you silly questions :-) I don't know much about CIs, other than what I read on here.

Yes, Matalan is the only place really that does good lengths but they arent very stylish, just plain.

    I'm job hunting too, urgh

You never know when to bring what up?
People never ask about my implant, surprisingly.
I can hear people talking but like you cant tell what they are saying unless I lipread them, even with my implant. As you may know, a CI isnt a cure, it's just like an advanced hearing aid

They're on max at the moment but last time I went she increased the gain by 10-20 db or so, so I think they can go louder.

Last time I was in Matalan they had a pretty good choice of lengths. Just plain trousers tho.

When I had pink hair it used to take me a few minutes to realise why people were staring, especially when they'd say something about it that I didn't hear. Silver sounds nice.

I like crafty stuff, sewing, I can't afford too much at the moment- basically taking a while off work to get some confidence and stuff cos depression made it impossible for me to keep a job.

I never know when to bring it up, and when I tell them what will help they forget. Plus some people think yelling helps! Do people ask about your implant? A lot of the time I can 'hear' people in conversation but it's just gibberish and I piece it together from the words I can catch.

Yes they can be programmed differently for that, but once the hearing aid level is maxed out(on top volume) they will need to provide a stronger HA.
I am 4ft 11 and I can NEVER get the jeans in my length(preferably 27/28) it really bugs me, I just usually wear skinny jeans because I just dont want to buy jeans and then they wont turn up or dont fit properly.
I wear my hair up a lot and do get a lot of people staring at me and my implant since it's silver, I'v got brown hair so it stands out a lot, but I dont really care. hehe.

I am just into shopping n seeing friends and MSN'ing. How about yourself?
I hate telling people I don't know about my hearing loss, so if I struggle to understand, I just nod or ignore them
