Thanks for your responces. I did go to the school for the deaf homecoming and I hope I can work it out so I can volunteer there in the spring.
I am still amazed at the lack of events here in Omaha given it's proximity to the school for the deaf in Council Bluffs.

About the sound quality on a sidekick: I have a side kick and use the phone part of it as my only phone. The quality is good. The only problem is when I'm in a loud place the phone volume doesn't really get as loud as I'd like, but this is really a rare problem.
