as you advance in education,you meet better understanding mate/students/peers.
a point of advice,always make sure any person you are dealing with for a lenghtly time knows that you are Deaf. in thjat way they will be able to understand some communication difficulties and practice patience.
otherwise i have seen that you have a CI. maybe better for you. Although i can talk well, i cant hear a thing and spend a better life of my life lip reading.
i only Sign when i meet other Deaf people or in Deaf groups which i visit mostly since its more fun.

Am the only Deaf in whole university of about 30000 students. i think i might be the only one who knows sign language too.
