hi maggies its danielle again what is your email??... and i saw that u are upstate your like 2 hrs from me not bad... good luck and for ur second college for Interpreting degree i would recommend Laguardia Community College in NYC. its one of the TOPS! and i wrote letters for some of my asl club members for that school and they got in its a great school they have a hudgggge beyond hudge program plus alot of deaf people go there.. bc NYC is right near it. So look into that college..

hi maggie my name is danielle and im 23 yrs old. i live on longisland ny. my life was difficult growing up as the only person in the family with a hearing loss. everyone tells me i can hear them when they talk but truthfully i cant... lately its been frustrating for me. i have now a severe - profound loss. i learned asl which i didnt know about in special ed when i was in middle school and high. i was pulled out most of my life didnt really learn much until i went to college in 2004. they put me in non credits bc i didnt know wut i was doing i never learned any of that stuff. so i missed out on a hell of alot and i wished i was in a deaf school when i was little. so i learned asl 2 years ago and i was the president of the asl club for 6 semesters in a row we got to go the 1 and only deaf/hh unniversity in the US called Gallaudet University. I made so many friends... i met so many new people. it has been the best experience of my life. i actually got a webcam to just sign to my friend on the computer who are deaf. its so much fun and once you start you wont be able to stop. It will be hard at first dont freak out but if u want me to send you information about anything please let me know.. bc i love helping out people ill do it by mail for all i care.... i have sooo much things... and i just got a letter about my last yr being president bc i graudated everyone wanted my to stay they were thanking me so much for the tutorials i would have tuesday voices off where u come ina nd just sign no talking aloud... and then thursdays was meetings with sign and voice for ppl that can hear. I also had alot of deaf authors come.. its was a great experience and i cant wait to teach ASL as a deaf teacher.
