hey i saw this announcement on ohsoez.com and immediately thought of you! I dont know if where you live but there is this camp in washington designed to help Deaf kids from 5-16 with socialization and taking pride in ASL and deaf culture!
"August 1 - 4, 2009. South Eastern Washington Service Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing presents CAMP "HANDS UP", 1130 N. Touchet Rd., Dayton, WA. This is a 4 day overnight camp for children ages 5 - 16 who are dependent on sign language for communication. Counselors are deaf. Staff fluent in sign language. Goals include: 1. Socialization opportunities with Deaf adults and children. 2. Develop appreciation of Deaf culture. 3. Increase language skills. 4. Foster an independent spirit.
