    Hi there!

I posted this quite some time ago, and then made other threads elsewhere and discussed my issue(s) more thoroughly on there, hence why I have so many posts. But, I figured it was best to get more integrated on the community than to stand around in the backgrounds :) that way at least I don't...

    Getting new hearing aids?

That's good to hear :) in that case I'll definitely make a point of getting one!

    Getting new hearing aids?

Yeah, I have that already sorted. I'm going to be getting a dictaphone at some point this year since it would help to be able to record the lectures for my last year and replay them over when I'm in my room. This year I was covered by the lectures mostly being what was on the powerpoint (or if...

    Getting new hearing aids?

Yeah - it could even be that long really, it depends on the number of patients. But the doctor said he would try and get it done ASAP so that it can be sorted out before the new academic year begins.

    Getting new hearing aids?

Sadly not - not received a phone call at least, and my appointment to be referred was on Monday. I've been told it could take up to 2-3 weeks depending on how busy they are, and how the post service is running too (it could either be via post or phone).

    Getting new hearing aids?

Yep, my thinking exactly. :) I'm quite excited actually, I'm hoping to get some which will be much better haha.

    Getting new hearing aids?

Thanks guys :) I'll see what they can offer, but I'll definitely be aiming for the better ones where possible. I'm glad (in a sense) to hear I'm not the only one who has had trouble getting new HAs. It's a pain in the neck to sort out but I'm hoping that this does work out. :/

    Getting new hearing aids?

This certainly gained more responses than I expected, but thank you so much! Firstly, regarding the new hearing aid situation, some time ago I did try and get new ones but they said they wouldn't do so unless they broke. I spoke to some of the other patients and it seems this place seemed intent...

    Getting new hearing aids?

Hm, hearing of these different types does definitely make me somewhat disappointed I haven't been offered alternatives for some time. Still, I can resolve that now at least, but I'm surprised at the lack of discussion I've had available regarding HAs in the audiology department I frequented as a...

    Getting new hearing aids?

I will :) I'm not sure how long it will be though - could be months depending on how many clients they already have, and how fast the referral is processed. But I'll do my best to come back and check. My main aim is just to find out the options available to me, but I'm glad I've had some...

    Getting new hearing aids?

That's definitely a special case, then. I'm glad they at least provided something for her though in that case. Still, we'll see what happens - if anything I'm more keen to put my name down for potential trials of ITEs if they develop them further - which is potentially quite likely.

    Getting new hearing aids?

I don't actually use my FM radio system any more, as I simply don't need it - my university does, however, provide a loop system which I can use as a back up if I do require it in the end, so that does come in useful. But okay, thanks. I'd be interested in the smaller BTEs then if anything if...

    Getting new hearing aids?

That's extremely helpful, thank you so much. I'll take a look into that. I haven't got profound hearing myself, and there's actually a small chance my hearing has improved slightly, but obviously I'm keen to explore all options that are available. Smaller BTEs would be better if anything at all...

    Hi there!

Hi there, and thanks! :D I have a stable hearing loss, so I should be largely okay once I am able to get the right preparations made. Have to admit though, the conditions I faced during the one weekend definitely was out of my planning range (I had planned for everything else) so I guess that...

    Getting new hearing aids?

I no longer have my old ones - they were taken back by my audiologists to give to the NHS :) but ouch! I'm not too bothered by the lack of a volume switch on these current ones actually. They're really well programmed so I haven't had any issue with the sound changes, it's just I'm thinking I'd...
