Sadly... I think Idiocracy is becoming more true and true everyday...

If you don't know what Idiocracy is... it's a social commentary on the link between consumerism and anti-intellectualism.

This pseudo-commercial pretty much tell it all:

Yep, good job on undermining them. Although for those that can hear would know automatically it was an ad based on how the news personnel talk.

Yeah... I figured out what they said by the time I replayed it through ten times. Apparently I was still off on a few words... doesn't help that Kopke has an accent that I can't identify or Betty flatten out a few of her vowels (which is a dead-give away if a person is suffering from a hearing loss. At least that's how I am able to correct CI users' perception of the world.)

Thanks for the transcript. Although I was just trying to get the people who claimed themselves as deaf or hard-of-hearing to be more accountable for the materials they post.

Thanks! It just seems like you are well-read on these type of literature from looking around on AD. WHen I tried asking other Deaf people, they just recommend "Deafhood" and "A Journey Into the Deaf-World" which are a good place to start, although I don't think most people even finish reading those books, but it is not really the same as employing literacy devices in a fictional piece of work.

Closest thing I can find that is written by a Deaf person is Douglas Bullards's novel, "Islay," though. I do know that we are in an era where one can encouter all three methods in their daily lives.
