Glad to see you stopping by. Was wondering how you were.

Violent vertigo is when you are more than dizzy - the world is spinning around you. It's sort of like when you ride a ride that spins around. Usually it causes one to barf - even if only dry heaves. Actually, on one of my episodes they DID take me to the hospital and thought I was having a heart attack or stroke. Because the body and mind doesn't know what is happening - you can basically have a panic attack. I had hypertension apparently to begin with - so when my BP registered 234/91 - my work called an ambulance. My heart is fine....it was likely a Meniere's attack. No one paid attention that I said I felt "dizzy" (didn't know how to describe vertigo then) and I didn't put together the ear fullness/pressure along with increased tinnitus.

Could you tell me more about one of your violent vertigo attacks? I'm 99.9% sure I just had one two nights ago. Scariest thing that's ever happened to me. I thought I was having a heart attack/stroke.

I hadn't heard about the deaf weekend at all. I am 4 hours from Orlando and with the obligations I have at home, I can't go. I am primary caretaker of my mother (living with us) who has ICU-induced dementia and cancer of the liver. I am also the driver for my mother-in-law (who we all live with) since she is legally blind and can't drive. Then I have my 2 teens, one with learning disabilities and my hubby with learning disabilities.
