On animal rights issues: I am vegan, and get animal rights info all the time.
So I know what is what. I don't think it is as extreme as you think to offer primates voting power. As for pets, I suggest you visit the vegan message board that I go to and you find that most vegans are ok with pets as long as they are from rescue shelters.
Thanks for the info about the open book though. My bank accout will soon be tipped completely empty but it's interesting to know what's available none the less.
Saw that... that's up to deafskeptic if she wants to reply to it or not. Not me.
Anyway, the split in the animal rights groups (especially those that promote equal rights and those that promote humane treatment) occurred in the last decade ever since people started advocating banning pet ownership and giving primates equal voting powers (and yes, I am serious here.) Your definition of animal rights is based on that in the last 100 years, mine is based on what has been emerging since early 2000s.
No problem dreama. Just ask anytime if you want me to describe a picture, or take a subtitled video into a form of a transcript.
I am still struggling with translating video-taped ASL into written English though, but that is only because languages have an "on/off" switch in my head and there are no compromises-- so it's either pure ASL, or pure English.
