Hey DD, sorry I haven't had time to post a follow up to my audiogram thread. I'm waiting to get the audiogram scans from the clinic. I'll make a post when I do. Also, still have yet to do the Piano thud test but I'll check it out soon. Take care.

Not sure yet, but China, Mexico, Costa Rica are among the choices. Not sure when ill get it, estimate is 2012.

When did that family relative get CI and why? And your mom should know that the deaf community opposes CI, especially for children!

About the CI so I don't throw the topic off:

To be fair, my parents didn't know I was deaf until 1991 or 1992. I was diagnosed with autism before then. They knew about cochlear implants only because a family relative had one, and my mom (hearing) has been active in the Deaf community since 1979.

She recalled at parents' meetings, that many parents wanted their kids to have CIs before the guidelines were "loosened" up so to say. So you can imagine the field day educators and parents had when cochlear implants were no longer clinical trials.
