    Trip in America

And make sure you're not one of the people who will get anaphylactic shock or some bad reaction in the future beforehand.

    YouTube Discrimination

They can do that. If such a video is seen, then the deaf person can choose to not turn on the CC and read that instead, but the point is that CC MUST be enabled for ALL videos all over the world, no exceptions. This way, you ALWAYS see the CC button enabled, and you choose to turn it on.

    Trip in America

It's not that. It's the financial conditions and the rioting that's there. You haven't seen anything yet. Rent/mortgage moratorium is about to expire, and there's no telling how many people will go homeless next year. It may not be safe for that reason to go there.

    Trip in America

Wait until about 2023-2024, and then ascertain the conditions in America before you go there. I won't set foot there myself until the next few years if I can help it myself.

    Hello from India

Hān. I'm still here in southern Gujarāt state. I chose Bhārat because I am Hindū and insufficiently westernized. In the US, I've gotten discrimination as a woman, as deaf, as a Hindū, as a person not willing to be a "yes" slave, etc. I find myself being much more mentally and...

    YouTube Discrimination

So, YouTube will end up losing deaf viewers. YT is showing its true colors, just like UK and Australia - rather capricious in regards to our right to information.

    YouTube Discrimination

YouTube should be forced to permanently have subtitles enabled, though not activated, so that the CC button is ALWAYS available for the viewer, and the uploader would have NO OPTION to disable it nor select languages. The subtitling facility should be programmed so that ALL languages are...

    Hello from India

So, in other words, we are too divided, too isolated, too poor, and perhaps too comfortable in our captivity to organize an actual country recognizable by United Nations.

    Hello from India

Namaste Techfreak. I was not referring to clubs or associations at all. I was referring to a COUNTRY, a nation, where you have your own government, your own monetary system, your own means of defense via military forces, and you have diplomatic channels with other countries.

    DNA/Ancestry test

Hello everyone! I got my DNA test done twice, once with a different company. The second one confirmed the first one for the most part, and it gave me additional information about my heritage (much more expensive test than the first one, and this has the ability to be used in official Indian...

    Earmold question

I have noticed this problem in the last 8 years. I was always getting sores somewhere in the ears. I think there was some change in the materials, giving rise to sores. I moved to India over two years ago, and I have new earmolds now. Most of the sores have healed now.

What Are Jobs Deaf People Can't Do?

Sarcastically, it depends on your brown-nosing skills. Dealt with that all my working life.

What Are Jobs Deaf People Can't Do?

I'm not sure anymore. The jobs I used to do have been shut down with this plandemic, and are being taken out with automation. Plus, the gov't keeps moving the goal posts around of what it means to be gainfully employed sufficiently to be able to survive. I left America altogether for this...

    Hello from India

Hello and Namaste. I've been living in India for two years and decided to see what's going on. I've been thinking about something. I see where things are CCP-virus-wise and economy-wise. There's a lot of things going on in America, apparently. Has there ever been a discussion about Deaf...

    Silent strike as a protest

Hello everyone, I'm seriously considering the possibility of starting a "silence strike," in protest of there not being currently-made analog hearing aids available in the US (I was just told today by another audiologist that supposedly, they are still available, but I wasn't able to confirm...
