I didn't realize this. This must be why I can't hear well using the iPhone 5c. I've been using a streamer plugged into the headphone jack, that wirelessly streams the signal to my hearing aids. I use it together with Facetime or Skype so i can lipread the speaker.
The weather here is absolutely horrible, it's very humid, extremely hot, in fact, so hot it's boiling. At least that's how I imagine it feels to the eggs I'm cooking. ;)
They're just working together on an ultra-secure tablet. Blackberry is the king of secure smartphones.

I'm happy with my iPhone 5c. I like how it hands off messages, etc between the phone and my MacBookPro.
On the other hand, it is my first smartphone. So I don't have anything else to compare it to.
There are interpreters who are deaf/hoh. I saw a video about it a while back. There was a woman who went to RIT who was deaf/hoh and she got an interpreter's certificate to interpret in certain situations. I'm not sure what the details were. Something to research.

Minneapolis is pretty cool so far. There's a lot of variety of things to do, and the park / lake / trails system interspersed throughout the core cities and the suburbs is really unique. Not surprised your dad would have fond...
Thank you for checking with her. I'm familiar with the site, but I'm hoping to find an event that is sort of "mixed," ASL/Oral because it might be more accepting. I thought maybe it would be easier to find my way into the community and learn ASL in that context.
Or if not that, I'm hoping...
