Haha, it gets used here fairly often, since it's a pretty accurate description of... our entire summer weather. Bleh. I'd love to move out west where it can be hot without being unbearably humid.

I've never been to Iceland, nor do I know many people who have, which is what put it on my list in the first place, and... hot springs + northern lights = WANT. Do a bit of hiking and sightseeing during the day, then retire to a spa/bars to relax in the evening.

I went on an Alaskan cruise with my parents a couple years ago, which was somewhat fun, except for getting pink eye (meaning I couldn't see well) and them not realizing that the cruise line they chose was the Geriatric Lines (my grandparents complained of feeling too young for the crowd there). Last year's vacation was fun, though - 9 day road trip out west with no pre-planned destinations except for a vague desire to see the Grand Canyon. That was a ton of fun.

Not muddy. Muggy. Hot, overly humid, etc.

And I think the earliest I've gone anywhere was mid-to-late June. Beaches aren't my travel destination of choice when I'm the one choosing the itinerary, though, so I usually just went whenever my folks wanted to go, which was "the middle of the freaking summer".

This year's currently planned vacation is Iceland, either in November or late January/early February.

As for work conferences, I've only gone to one so far (with my last company) which I enjoyed, though that might have been because it was my first and I was only an intern at the time. Not enough experience with them to be jaded just quite yet. I'd assume the interest level also has a lot to do with what topics are being presented, though, as well.

Haha, I half expected "you're" there. Thanks for not making my eyes bleed. :x

Work conference, or personal interest conference? I've not been to a beach in a while, though I imagine spring might be a nice time to go. I usually end up going (if I do at all) in the summer, when it's muggy and hot, which is not much fun for me.
