Regarding what got me interested in deaf culture and ASL, there were many things. The first thing was when I toured the School for the Blind and Deaf in Florida and thought to myself, wow this is pretty cool. Another reason is that spoken languages come very easily to me so I decided to try sign language because it would be more challenging (I am already really proficient in Spanish and am also learning Japanese.) After starting to learn ASL I became interested in Deaf culture. I wish I could meet someone deaf though.
