Congrats on the anniversary! Hope you did something special to celebrate! I know what you mean about the job. I have one waiting for me in DC, working for the Federal Government. I am lucky and grateful for that.

Oh yeah, I know all about the accommodations that are available in DC--not just at the Smithsonian, but everywhere; that's a BIG reason why I want to move there. When I visited there, I felt the sting of ignorance much less. Everywhere I went, it seemed people knew how to communicate with a deaf person and were much more open minded and accepting, but not patronizing.

I hope I can meet your daughter someday soon. I have lots of goals for myself, and the plan is that those goals will help draw all of us in the Deaf community--deaf, Deaf, hoh, hearing, CODA, etc. etc, closer together. We're really not all that different when it comes down to it. We all want the same things: Love, acceptance, excitement, etc.

Hey Mike, thanks for your message. I am doing well and all but finished with my MFA. I defended my thesis and deposited it with the grad school last week. All that's left is to teach one last week of class! I'm moving to Washington, DC in a few weeks to start work with the Federal Government and to meet find more Deaf people. It's going to be a big change, but I'm really looking forward to it. How have you been? What's new? I was in Chico briefly during Christmas to see my brother. I miss it a lot. I hope all has been well for you and your wife.
