Hello! Wondering if you'd like to be friends? Also, what suggestions would you give to someone having to adjust to being deaf after 30+ years of being a hearing person?

Hi Bebonang! That's good, and yeah, we are "baby boomers"! I was born in '46.....I haven't checked the site for quite a while....Thks for joining in!...Ya know, I joined AD in 2007,, but never posted or came back until late 2008 or 2009....I'm sure glad I did, learning so much here and keeping my mind "open" to the deaf culture, after being deafened at 14 yrs. old, so I admit, I knew nothing about it at first.....(being an oral deafie)....So much to learn and read!....Keep up the good posts and responses!...Some of us older deafies just at times "sit back and let the world go around"....others join in (as we are doing)...keeping our minds going and going! Good education here....Lots to learn, no matter our age.....Keeps us young at heart too!...So have a good one!...rockin'robin (Jan)

Yo, Toni, Another hot day on Lake Texoma and I plan to stay in under the A/C. I was asked to attend a ham radio event in OK City, but decided to stay home. A friend, from the event, said their display area was cramped, dark and hot. I'm glad that I stayed home. I hope you stay cool, calm , collected and not overheated with my sharing of experiences and education of the deaf. I am most familiar with CIs, HAs, SEE1/MSS, CC & many unique viewpoints, solidly at odds with established (outdated) thinking. I assume they never had he guts to attempt anything new. SK HH
