Yes. Some people actually get activated a week later...that's kinda rare, but it does happen. Most people wait 3 to 4 weeks later because the docs and audis want to wait until the swelling goes down, otherwise there will be issues with the magnet not attaching properly, and can cause sores on the magnet area by having the coil attached all the time.
