Everyone say why foreigners still prefer to marry American citizen. Why??

USA is envy of the world based on choices of cars with turbocharged engines. Who wouldn't want to live in America???

The same for Canada-a "short circuit to citizenship". Whether that can compared to "turborcharging" interesting.

I've heard of marriage being a short cut to citizenship but not a short circuit. It seems that a short circuit would be counterproductive.

All they want is to obtain an US citizenship. I will NOT marry a foreigner if he wants a shortcut to US citizenship...if he wants to become an US citizen, then he has to support himself.

I am sure that Canada has some choices with turbo engines, but they aren't as diverse as AMerica.

Yeah, there are different things that makes Canada more appealing than USA.

Everyone says that?

I travel around the world and meet deaf people. They said they prefer to marry only american. I asked why. They said good life in america than other countries.

my mind still bother me. I know what they want is green card. I am not sure if they care about love? maybe I am wrong..

I went to Las Vegas for deaf expo in 2010 and some deaf foreigners looked for marriage to american. I am not suprised they will do again in Las Vegas this Summer.

So they can live and experience the culture and dream of the USA.

I hate to nitpick this one but I've heard from some Canadians they don't like being said they are not from "America". The truth is, they are part of the Americas also, they are in North America just like Mexico is central America and Chile is South America.

Just to say this so you know, someone may get offended by it.

Well, I do remember the Cuban boatlifts many years ago....My friend told me that several of those men asked her to marry them....Fortunately, she declined. They were hearing and she was deaf....

Normally, when people say "Americans" they mean people from the USA because that's what people from the United States are called. We aren't USA-ians or USA-ers or USA-ites. :giggle:

I've never heard people from Mexico, Canada, or Chile called "Americans." and there is no "American" continent. They might be called North Americans, Central Americans, or South Americans, but not just "Americans." Even when people are from the Americas or Western Hemisphere, I've never heard them refer to themselves as "Americans" (except natives of USA) but as natives of whatever specific country or region they are from.

Yeah, it's a debate I had gotten into with some older people who were not of native White / Anglo-saxon ancestry (age 50-60+).

They debate when referring to Americans, it should be anyone living in any of the Americas if there is no reference to the US, or North or South or Central. I thought it was an interesting argument despite the nit pick clause. :dunno:

omg so many, so full of it.the world don't begin and end in america.many americans want to get out, your health care seems inhuman unless rich , ghetto's and poverty not much better than 3rd world.

In college, a guy from Thailand or wherever offered me livestock in exchange for my hand in marriage.

Lol.. This out of country guy with MBA begged me to marry him, so he can become an citizen. He has no work visa. D'oh.

Mexicans don't call themselves North Americans. They do have pride to call themselves Mexicans. Rarely, Ive met a few Mexicans labeling themselves "Estados Unidos Mexicanos." If you met a girl from Chile, she'd be Chilean.

Other than the marriage angle, I have never seen any truth to this. Yes, turn of the last century it was very true, but today I'm not sure. Although, I'm sure if you live in Greece it certainly would be temping to marry an American given their economy. Still, I see no proof of this.
