Yes, rice is very good. The brown and wild rice blend is very delicious. Basmati is one of favorites, and sticky rice dipped in hot, spiced oil is just decadent. Hmm, there is no rice that is not enjoyable.

Does anyone else use an automatic rice cooker? We are on our third one.

Brown rice has such a good, deep flavor. Maybe PFH will let us try his cheese on some of this rice.... lol

I have a big rice cooker and also Supentown storage container that measures my rice and then I just add the right water, plus it will keep warm for 12 hours after cooking.

I love my rice cooker. It is the best one I ever had. I bought both these on Amazon far cheaper than I could buy them in town,.

It doesn't mean I want to eat 12 hour old rice. It is a feature. It is interesting that it will do that.

it's usually for events like party or family gathering but it takes about 30 min to cook rice so just turn it on as you start to cook meal (or before) - a freshly-made rice with smoke rising up! yum yum!

I know how to use my rice cooker!

But I am not going to talk about it anymore so I don't end up like Matajan.

She married my father's younger half brother when he was in the Army in Japan. In the sixties and seventies, when I was a kid, sushi wasn't that big a deal.

Tempura shrimp is something I remember fondly. She probably cooked more American style I think.

i tried knorr rices, not bad. i got em' for 90 cents. i added cut red bell pepper to the rice and of course added garlic for everything.
Knorr Sides Plus Veggies Cheddar Rice with Broccoli & Carrots

my BF cooked rice with deliciously chicken broth then steamed veggies (from trader's joe frozen veggies), it was good and easy. we like firmer rice so he use less water just little bit.

Huh?

A few months ago you were telling me Korean rice isn't as nutritious and sweeter than Japanese rice.

Nishiki brand isn't as good as the other Korean or Japanese brands anyway; the only bonus for Nishiki is that it's easier to find than the other brands.

you must be thinking of brown rice. Korean WHITE rice isn't as nutritious as brown rice. Korean rice has a certain level of sweetness but depends on what brand you got.

Fried rice isn't fattening. If it is, then you're using too much oil.

You only need 1/2 tablespoon, at most 1 tablespoon.

Re-read. You were telling me you hated Korean rice because it's too sweet and you prefer Japanese.
