JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man is arrested and charged with assault after police say he threatened security workers with the HIV virus.
Bobbie Danielle Robinson, 29, was arrested by police Sunday after officers say he was seen stealing clothes from the Wal-Mart in the 6700 block of 103rd Street.
According to a police report, store security approached Robinson in the parking lot after they watched him put clothes into a bag he had brought into the store with him. When they asked Robinson to go back into the store, he told them, "Just to let you guys know, I am HIV positive and if you don't let me go, I'm going to start scratching you."
Police said Robinson then went back into the store with the security officers and admitted to stealing the clothes. The arresting officer stated in his report that when he was transporting Robinson to the Duval County Jail, Robinson began cursing at him and trying to spit on the back of the officers head. Robinson was laughing and said the officer, "needed to to a bath tonight."
The officer said Robinson was coughing and laughing while he tried to spit through the cage in the patrol car. He was booked into the jail on petty theft and assault with the intent to commit a felony.
