What I did wrong with Jell-o???

Last night, my girls and I made Grape Jell-O! Today I pulled tray out of refrigerate. I see little water liquid with Jell-O. I am not allowing my girls eating it until tell me it is safe.

Did you read the instruction? Did the box say "cook" or "instant"

If cook, means you have to cook on the stove

if instant must have hot water then dissolve the Jello mix then add cold water then fridge it for few hours.

Sorry it didn't turned out good for ya. We do love Jello here...yummy! I haven't had it for a while though! I like Raspberry flavor the best....hee

GRRR Last night I made another Orange Jell-O with follow careful measure with hot water and cold-water mix. Recently took tray out of refrigerate. There is little water?

My guess causes it by where I live on the mountain??

This may apply, make sure you have all of the gelatine in the bowl! If you only dump in half of the package (by mistake), the jello won't set -- because there's too much water for the amount of gelatine. If you try to add the rest of it later, when the water is no longer boiling hot, it won't dissolve... and it (1) won't set *and* (2) will have bits of grainy texture to it. Also try to use a glass container, it sets better in them.

Cook Jell-O that so new to me and very interesting. Never used boiling boiling water as it destroy the gelatin powers of setting. Used hot water from hot running tap as it doesnt scald it and easier to cool down quickly.

I don't think you use cold water. You use hot water so that the powder will dissolve. When you stir it up and pour it in a bowl or pan. Then put it in the fridge. You have to put it in the fridge long enough for it to become gelatin. If you use the right measurements, it works out right.
