I used to beg my parents to quit smoking (when I was still living with them). One day I bought a pack of those things you use to cover your mouth - and started wearing them around the house. My parents would roll their eyes. Then I made t-shirts saying my parents are trying to kill me with cigarettes and other slogans. I made signs all over the house about the dangers of smoking. I posted pictures of black lungs. Looking back, I now know my parents really tolerated a lot of my "statements." LOL.

It's other people's business if they smoke. I have lots of friends who smoke, and I don't care. However, I do not want smoke around my children because there's vast research that proves that second-hand smoke is very bad for them. I think it should be illegal for children to be exposed to smoking because of the negative effects on their health. We as adults can make choices to hang out with smoke and smokers...children don't have choices. They're stuck .
Yeah, it's a sad thing... a lot of parents don't realize what they're putting their kids through.

I do know some people who smoke, but they smoke outside... not in the house. I applaud those people for making that kind of effort to respect their children's (and others') spaces.

I never smoke a ciagrette in my whole life (well, I did tried one time with my friend who's a smoker, I cough and cough then I was like "no way, never again", it smelled awful on me and digusting". My mom got mad at me when I came home from high school.

When you see someone smoke, it doesn't look cool to me, I remembered back in 1980s-1990s that advertisment-billboard, a model woman posed big red sexy pouty lip with cigarette that says, "cool, sexy and mature". To me, that's not cool, not sexy and not mature when you smoke.

I'm sorry for the offensive to anyone who's a smoker or ex-smoker. That's how I feel.
When someone smoke around me and he think is sexy or cool to get my attention, acutally it a turn off. I would not want anyone or anybody smoking around my child as well. I don't want smoking to affect the health of my child. I see how smoking is sexy when it not. Smile.

I agree. I've seen people smoke because they think it's cool. I don't see what's cool about it.

I've smoked before, but I'm not a chain smoker (like those who go through 1 or 2 packs a day). I smoked occasionally... at parties where I'm sitting outside with a bunch of guys smoking cigarettes and cigars while drinking beer and enjoying a simple conversation. I never smoked at restaurants, friend's houses, in my car, etc...

Ah I remember so many times I worked at camp ground for every saturday night we have dance night out and people smoke all over the place at the dance and I just hate my clothes smelling like cigarettes and my hair smell too. I had to wash my clothes and shower. I always hear excuses from people for their reasons to smoke such as they say smoking help them lose weight, or smoking help them eat less, or smoking relaxing, smoking sexy, smoking cool, smoking because other people smoke. All that is really unnessary to smoke. I have known a friend who smoke 3 pack a day for 17 years and can't stand the smell of him smoking. It really such a shame for people who smoke would end up ruining their health.

If I have my own house, I would prefer friends/families to smoke cigarettes outside.

I did tried smoke cig in the past when I was younger, but I didn't like them. So I have never bought a packet.

Hated smoking and hate the smell of marijuana even more.

I knew from when I was 4, I never wanted to smoke, so I never have. None of my family smokes now. Well, maybe my eldest nephew, but who knows with him.

So if I am seeking a Mr.Right, he'd have to be a non-smoker.

Suppose Mr. Right posses all the characteristics that u value and are attracted to and his one and only flaw is that he smokes? That was what happened with my hubby and I. He was everything I wanted in a man except for the smoking part.

I agree.

When a person smokes weed, I can smell it very easily.

When I worked at a local video rental store years ago, there would be times when a customer came in and reeked of marijuana smoke. Just from walking around, they leave a trail of marijuana smell. Ugh!

Sheesh, please don't put a pox on my wish, thankyou.

Well, in that case, I'd probably ask him to try and quit or cut it WAY down.

If somebody smoke cigarette in my home, i'll shotgun at his or her stick and she or he will scare like he or she saw ghost right front of her or him.

Otherwise, i smoke weed for medicine purpose: ADHD. Of course, i wont abuse that because i have no intent to abuse it for pleasure, its purpose for my medicine. Of course, will stay away from the places where is very common or crowd. I have common sense-

Smoking is outright gross!

I have been told that being overweight is same as smoking! I said, your hell wrong because smoking increases much risk of getting lung cancer, and other irreversable damages while being fat may risk but at much lower rate than smoking!

I don't understand why 5 dollars a pack, and whenever outside is downright cold, yet people smoke anyway! This is insane!

I hate to rain on smokers..but it is very dangerous habit.
I know a deaf man, who never, ever smoked but yet
he died of lung cancer, why? because his parents were
chain smokers. He grew up inhaling their second hand
smoke all his life and so about 2 years ago, he developed
a lesion on his lung that turned out to be cancer..
Of course, his parents died years before he did..
I know a couple of people that has died from cigarette
related diseases....
I realize it is an addiction that is very hard to break, but it
is not an excuse..cuz there are all kinds of help available.
My husband has successfully quit on this new prescription
called "Chantix"..Im real proud of him!

Yeah, i do hate the smell of cigs so im thankful that he quit!
It does stink and stink up everything in the house and your,
clothes and hair! Now, its great since he quit.....its soooo
wonderful not have to smell and inhale this dangerous stuff!!

One time, I went to a hotel with my family for Spring Break vacation. When we went in one room, it reeked of marijuana. Since my dad used to be a police officer, he knew what marijuana smelled like. I also recognized the smell, but I didn't say anything cuz I didn't want him to wonder how I knew what marijuana smelled like.

Of course, during RA training... they have special incense that smells like marijuana. The campus safety officer lit it up and passed it around the room so that the RAs would know what it smelled like and know what it was if they ever smelled it in the dorms.
