I got a question, my daughter is going to have baby#3 this July. And she was told by some of her friends that if a woman gets too many ultra sounds that it would effect the baby's hearing. So ADers what do you think about this one?

Uhh... I've never heard that.
Did you ask your friends where they heard this from? If they heard it from a friend of a friend, then don't bother... it's probably another made-up urban legend that originated for some stupid reason. Rumors like these are usually from stories changing as they're passed along or from people who have a hidden agenda against something else.

I agree, like Vampy said "urban legend" I remember when I was pregnant with my kids, my mother would tell me one thing then my grandmother would tell me something different.then an aunt, lady down the street, friend, the cashier on and on.

Geez. That's very impossible. I had many ultrasound since I am pregnant. I will get either once or twice test of ultrasound in every month since becuase of my ovarian cyst, making sure that baby is healthy and etc like that. My last ultrasound was in April to making sure the date due is correct since my doctor in Washington didn't do good job with paperworks tho.

I agree with the others. An ultra sound is unlikely to affect a baby's hearing. It uses sound waves that bounce back off of a solid object (the fetus) to create a picuture on the screen. If sound waves were dangerous to a baby's hearing, then all those expectant mothers who put headphones on their stomachs while they are pregnant to play music to their babies would be having deaf babies.
