Its True..I have Type 2 Diabetes and i went though a Check up last week My Thyriod is Up My Colesterol is up Trigliserise is up,,I lost my Hearing 2 years ago Im only 45..The Older you get the more health problems you develop.Its the price of getting old!

Of course the older you get you get more health problems...that is a given. Where have you been all your life? A lot of problems can be headed off if you take care of yourself. Unfortunately, everybody dies at some point and all the problems thereof before that...

Yes they do.. some of them do! Some of them got cancer etc. Look at deaflinuxgeek aka Kimana.. she has CP, type 2 diabete, severe asthma, stomach problems, seizures. She is on some different medicines.

I am 62 and i dont have any type of diabetes... but i can become one if i am not careful because of my mother.... my sister had one... not me yet

Buck,

You do not realize how fortunate of a time in which you live. With the advances in medicine these days, more kids than ever are surviving compared to 50, 100 years ago and even further back into time when it was much worst.

People in the old days had to have many children so that some would make it. It was common for two, three or more kids to die before reaching adulthood. Mostly, it was to diseases like smallpox, infections (just think a cut on the foot could kill a kid), and other complications where all too common. Many women died in childbirth where today that is just a simple routine cesarean that keeps them alive.

Life was tough and if you didn't make...you didn't make and it was as simple as that. The survivors were the tough ones...who been through it all.

Before you complain about your aliments of which you probably contributed to yourself, read your history about how life really was in the old days and count your many blessings...

I wasn't. I was a very sickly child.

But, anyway... Is this a "poor me" rant? Because, that doesn't solve anything.

I know you have health issues, but alot of people do. Try to look at postive things instead of all the negatives

Yea, diabete can be developing from family genetic.

Keep up and don't eat alot of surgar foods or you will be avoid to get diabete.

I got health problem when I was kid.

I have serious stomach problem, got diarrhea everyday, vomit in few weeks, calcium stone in kidney and swelling in balls.

I got treat with stomach problem after got surgery in 1998 and no more vomit and diarrhea so often. I got balls surgery in 2003 to stop swelling alot of blood.

Give him break, he is right, healthy kids do not have high cholestral nor trig nor high blood pressure. They don't break bone easily nor have bad back as many adults do. But they will if they do not eat right for long time then too late for them as it is for me and others who already deal with problems.

Well, sugar is not reason we got trouble. It is hydrogenated oil, our govt should banned hydrogenated oil but guess who is losing business? Food industrials, our govt depend on them for tax. They won't do anything about it.

Er...that is not quite true. The food industries are very sensitive to the finicky mood of their customers. They are persuaded when consumers want or demand alternatives. Yea, it takes a little while but they do it. Just think when the Atkins diet (Low Carbs) was all the rage. Restaurants were switching to it on their menus to capitalize on the demand.

You can get non-hydrogenated oil and the fast food companies have picked up on that and even announcing they use the stuff.

I do agree that the gov't tends to sort of get stuck and let the consumers and industries sort it all out.

I know that you won't hear the exactly same same way with CIs like a hearing person would hear. BUT...it's better than not hearing ANYTHING at all. And from what I understand, you can even enjoy music and stuff like that. Think about it. I have always been aware of this and still want a CI.
