This has two references...

Both are female characters from the Super Mario Bros games. On the left is Princess Peach. On the right is Princess Daisy. In the game, one of the items that the characters pick up for an extra life is what we would call... a 1-Up. This item is the little green mushroom that's seen in the Super Mario Bros games.

This picture is a humorous reference to 2 girls 1 cup.
