I'm not trying to flame, just interested in and trying to understand other's impressions. For sure DeafRoger is animated and expressive, but I can't detect overt femininity in his sign. Maybe it's because I'm laughing. Is there a macho sign? Is it less fluid? Delivered more deadpan? Curious.

When doing a presentation, many ASLers changed the fluidity of their signs. There is a terminology for that..I cant remember.

Lol, this man (Deaf Roger) is hilarious! Btw, Authentic for someone who is most like those Russian cops, I need to tell you that DeafRoger is married.
Btw, HASL was voted on and adopted for all hearing people except for hearing certified ASL interpreters!

I ran this link twice and kept getting cut off in the same place. I went up as far as the HASL part but what was the reason for HASL?? Please explain in details. Thank you!

Stereotype - that was not necessary. I don't care if he is married, divorced, single, widowed. I just couldn't stand watching how he sign. It is just my opinion. So Be It!

Your comment: 'For some reason I cant stand watching how he sign ASL ... so feminine. Any men can be feminine in their sign language as we do admire his sense of humor. I am surprise to see you complain how he looks the way he signs. Ugh! Sounds like you were purjudice against feminine men. Be careful what you have a judgement on other people's sign languages. You need to learn to accept for who they are. I am so glad that Roger involves in vlog to explorse to the hearing people. Guess what, my hearing colleagues love that vlog so much. It helps their visual development in asl with facial expression. Light up authentic !

Basically Roger is telling a story about hearing dad who learned ASL for his deaf son. He used the book to learn sign languages. During baseball game where his son played on the team. His son was a lousy player and dad went to tell his son that he's very disappointed with him and as the result, the father broke his own jaw. This is because of the sign "disappoint" is designed to go to person's jaw and generally hearing people are fragile (Roger said that, not me), unlike deaf people, so as the result he broke his jaw. Then Roger went on to tell stories of other people who made attempts to sue ASL because of injuries involved with certain signs. Deaf lawyer came to defend the case by bring up "HASL" which is for hearing people where they can cover certain parts of their face with other hand so that they won't get hurt by ASL. That's basically the main point of what he said. Hopefully I am right? Anyone want to correct those? If no one has brought up a transcript for you in a couple of days, I will be happy to try make one for you. Hopefully someone will because their English might be better than mine. I believe in equal access so.

Tell us at what time did it occur? You mean at around 1:42?
I am not sure either. I think he became low function from the sign "stupid" which hit his forehead. And they cannot provide if he is already intelligently challenged or not. Seems like he played on words and puns.
