I have a question for you, Jiro123. Is there a way that Deaf can be a member of Police Association or Police Club? We will be looking forward to your respond.

I have no idea... I suppose the only way to do that is to be a valuable asset to them (for investigation purpose) or to know a friend/family member to get you in.

For 11 years, I was a copier technician. I got out of that business and plan to go back to school to be Aerospace Engineer.

any idea what school you're going? I'd like to suggest Virginia Tech. I had a good time there. They have its own small airport as well. Most of engineers who graduated from VT usually head straight to military/defense contractors. and VT is a military school - shares with civilian students as well.

I plan to start out at Austin Community College as Mechanical Engineer. If I can beat the odds, I will transfer to University of Texas as Aerospace Engineer. If I am unable to beat the odds, I'll finish out as Mechanical Engineer at ACC and try to use that degree to at least get into engineering airplanes and/or space crafts.

I currently work for Google at Data Center as HWOPS Technician starting two months ago. Before I join Google, I work the two jobs for about 12 years as System Administrator for the Christian school and other businesses as general IT computer consulting. But now part time on those jobs mostly on the weekends.

Yay for GOOGLE!

PS. Hey DeafRichard, as you may knew, OpenDns is a excellent web's content filters and very user friendly for my clients, they been uses this service since the release. Thanks for putting in here for alldeaf.com

That may be the case but Boeing has more of cycle than NASA does.

However, I wouldn't turn down a job offer from Boeing. Just have to wait and see how it goes once I finish college.

Nice! I had a similar project for office machines at my old work, they're xerox brand (wired) and one of them are PSCF (Printer, Scanner, Copier and Fax) linked via linksys wireless access point (secured, of course). What's your favorite project on your IT's experience?

I still have to actually pick my major, ha ha

I'm stuck between three, Violin Performance, Sound Engineering, and Anthropology.

I think it'd be fun to to the lights and the sound for a rock band and travel with them.. that'd be cool.

I still really don't have a clue what I want to do.

Nice! Xerox is very good brand. It was first copier machine ever!

My company sell Toshiba, Lanier and Kyocera. I can set printer, scanner, copier, fax, scan to email (direct from machine, not computer), fax forward to email (save papers) and teach customers' IT for how to set up.

I use Newegg.com - LINKSYS WET54G 54Mbps Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge - Wireless AP / Bridges. It's friendly and nice configuration. I never use setup wizard due kind poor secured.

My favorite project is wireless, I guess. How about you?

Curious - I started my first day at university as a full-time web master/system admin. My boss asked if I need any accommodation. I told him I'll get back to him on that because I don't really know.

I'm curious - what kind of accommodation do you have for work? what about telephone-related?

For Deaf, if you are able to walk and has no vision problem, then you just need few of the accommodations at work below.

1. TTY or use any instant messenger on the computer to make call through relay service.
2. You need blackberry device or any cell device in order to reach you.
3. If you're alone in the room or have your own office, you need flashing probe for phone, fire alarm, and doorbell.
4. You'll need an interpreter for conference. Otherwise you don't need it if you just have one on one meeting with your boss with the desire to have a notepad to write back and forth.

Lastly...you need a woman to keep you company. Lolz. Just kidding.
