Hearing but learning
Hello all-
I am a hearing ASL student in north Mississippi, looking to expand my knowledge of deaf culture. Taking small-group private lessons from one of the local interpreters (small town but the University of Mississippi is here so there are actually several interpreters). Also becoming active in the deaf community here, which is fairly large because we have the city of Tupelo only an hour away. I started with ASL through Baby Sign when we had our first child, she was signing at 9 months. We kept at it and eventually started the official lessons, now we're not fluent but passable. Ee have a 9-month old who is just starting to sign, it's very exciting! Anyway, glad to be here. -Claus |

to AllDeaf forum. I am glad you are encouraging to have ASL or sign language to communicate with your child and also want to become an interpreter. Good for you. Keep up the good work. I hope you enjoy reading and posting all the threads here. Have fun with us. See you around.
