1 bit of advise.
Hi Smiley... I'm actually hearing but have many deaf friends. SOme of which are in relationships with hearing. 1 piece of advise I can offer... Include your boyfriend in your conversations with friends. Try to interpret for him so that he doesn't feel left out or ignored. There are a couple more I could give but wouldn't be appropriate for an open forum.
Good luck Jody Quote:

Hello Smileyface2788 and welcome to Alldeaf!!! I hope you have enjoyed your stay here on this forum. I think it's wonderful that you are dating a deaf man, and you have learned ASL to be able to communicate with him. You should be very proud of yourself, and I am sure your boyfriend must be so happy that he met someone as nice as yourself to accept your boyfriend for who he is and his inner beauty. It probably was a little awkward at first for both of you from 2 different worlds and what to expect, what to do, how to do it. I am sure you have gotten stares from other people while in a public place when you both are signing to each other. It's a great thing for others to watch in amazement as your signing. I am sure by now you have become used to being with your boyfriend and feel so comfortable together. I commend you both for giving each other the chance to overcome obstacles and accept each other for who you both are. Good luck with your boyfriend, and I would say he is a very luck man to have met you. Keep smiling "Smileyface". Take care and look forward to more of your postings!!!
