Author, Roger Dean Kiser

I am not deaf or hard of hearing. However, my wife might differ.

I was raised in an orphanage in Jacksonville, Florida. I will never forget how badly we kids were treated because everyone thought that we were "different". Many of my stories shed light on what it is like to be treated in that manner.

I hope my stories will help others to see that being kind to everyone costs them nothing.

I have posted one of my stories titled "The Whale Sound". It is a story of the first person I ever knew who told me that he loved me, when I was a little boy. It was a deaf boy who lived across the street from the orphanage where I lived.

I have never forgotten him and the wonderful words that he spoke to me with his hands.
