Hi everyone! I am the President of Sea Gull Recreational Vehicle Company and I am Deaf. I am here to get to know everyone including you so that we can have great fellowship here.

We are based in Central New York with relocating our headquarters later in 2014 to Elkhart County, Indiana where the RV manufacturers and our suppliers are.

Now having said that, we are a new company and working on our prototype and having our plant to manufacture our first product, Sea Gull Ring-Billed 17' Trailer as our goal. Of course, Deaf can! We can have Deaf employees working with us someday.

We are here to connect with the community here for many reasons. I am sure there are Deaf people who are RVers or own their own Recreational Vehicles. We are exciting to talk with you about camping, your trailers, your thoughts, and forth. We are here on neutral terms. In other word, friendly.

Let you all know that Sea Gull RV Company is Deaf owned and we will be successful like the competitors in Elkhart and elsewhere! Yes, large scale!

Thank you for stopping by!

Give it a bit of time- people will reply sooner or later :)

Any IT jobs available? ;) I'm still too poor to own an RV right now.

I am not gung ho on RV and like DeafDucky, I am too poooor to buy RV. I don't know why you want to put advertising for RV in our AllDeaf Forum which related to d/Deaf and Hard Of Hearing issues.

Hi there, I am an owner of a 2012 travel trailer and enjoy camping with it. However, my husband and I realize we need one with slide outs since we are both tall people.

Do you ever go to Eastern Deaf Timberfest? You will see so many deaf people with all kinds of RVs.

Nice! Thought you have a tent according to one of the forums in this site. Of course, slide-outs are very spacious and comfortable. You can get a trade in since it is just two years old. Summer comes around fast and there will be 2015 models out so you might want to start searching. Best time to search and buy is now till May. Motorhomes usually sells better after May. Strange world! You can also consider Toy Hauler with the deck if you like outdoors.

As for Eastern Deaf Timberfest, I think I heard of them before but never been to since no one tells me anything about the events. Really. I never thought of online research. I have never been to one of those events. Had no idea what it was about but you mentioned many have their own RVs there. Hmm, thanks for tip!

At the moment, we are not hiring anyone fulltime. Should be by Summer or Fall this year when we get our offices up and running in Elkhart.

We had the tent for 10 years and got the RV about 2 years ago. We kept the tent just in case. We don't want trade in just yet because we need to save for a better down payments and pay off some other bills. Next year, for sure.

Yea, we loved the toy haulers but the problem is that my husband's SUV isn't strong enough to pull that much weight.

Cool. You can still keep the tent because you might will need them while having the RV at a campground. Most parks or campgrounds allows you to have one RV and one tent. Depends on the size of the site. You might will want the tent to let your guests sleep in it like the children or grandchildren if you have any.

Ah, ok, the weight. Got ya. Remember with slide-outs it weight more in the same length as a non-slideout. About 500 to 1000 pounds more depending on what size. Can be at least 300 pounds more. When you are ready to upgrade, remember the weight of slide-outs are usually more. So, you might want to get a bigger vehicle as well if you are looking to get longer Travel Trailer with slide-outs. Since you and your husband are tall, rarely, there are king size beds. Usually with slide-outs and over 35 feet long TT. Or long Fiver (Fifth Wheel).

I was there last August. It was around 75 people. I stayed there for a hour and left. Not worth to pay 35 dollars just to enter inside the tent and watch the outdoor games. Whatever.

That was family Deaf Timberfest. It was generated for kids. and it is always smaller. The big one was in 2012 and there will be one in 2014.

The one I went to in 2012 , there were about 300+ deaf people. The whole campsite was taken over by ASL users.
