Have you ever wanted to be able to become alldeaf.com forum-savvy?

Did you want your replies to come all nicely laid out and professional?

I've noticed for some time that users do not know how to take advantage of the extra features of what the board can provide for you.

At the bottom right of each post, you will see not just the quote icon, but three icons:
quote.gif
(regular quote button)
multiquote_off.gif
(MultiQuote toggle button)
quickreply.gif
(Quick reply to this post button)
blogpost.gif
(Blog this post)

In this topic I've done you the favor of making a short (but hard to see) video of how to multi-quote, so you can get your replies like the following below. Don't click on the
viewpost.gif
on them, because those posts aren't real. I'm just making it look real.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KH8O2IPxqfo"]YouTube - Alldeaf.com - How to quote multiple forum posts - aka Multiquote[/ame]

It's when you press this
multiquote_off.gif
button, it will turn into
multiquote_on.gif
, and do it again for all the posts that you want to reply to if there's more than one.

It will make your results look similar to something like below:

Blah blah blah Blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah blah blah!
Nah nah nah!

dah dah dah dah dah da! dah dah dah dah dah da! dah dah dah dah dah da!
 *trumpet fanfare?*

You might need to consult a psychiatrist.

ta-da! Now go and try it out, soldier.

Because I feel devilish as usual........

That you forgot to say that you could also............

I did go to a lot of trouble to make this one small point. Trumpet fanfare!

Super poster Spock gains 15 experience points.
Super poster Spock has now been promoted to instructional staff!

Level 2 task provisions to complete:
You have 61,988 threads, 1,302,018 posts and 26,402 members to review before advancing to the next level.

;) Just kidding! Good contribution.

You two are humorous :) But thanks for the advice on the multi-quoting, it will come in handy for those who didn't know about this feature.

What you forgot to point out is...

You have to click the
quote.gif
(regular quote button) after you've selected all of the
multiquote_off.gif
(MultiQuote toggle button).

That will take you to the next page where all those quotes are shown in one text box. You just move your cursor over the end of each QUOTE tag and reply to that person. :thumb:

Nah I wasn't missing anything, I used the quick reply quoting, which someone missed this part = fail.

Actually, super poster failed... loses 19 experience points (minus 20 for fail, plus 1 for trying). He simply quoted your post and then broke up your post (possibly copy-&-pasted the same quote multiple times, then deleted parts that he wasn't responding to before adding his comments to each part). ;)

I was replying to the thread in general, specifically Naisho... not you. :)

When multiple quotes are in one post and you reply to that post, all of those quotes will disappear and all replies to those quotes will appear as one entry.

What you forgot to point out is...
Oops! Thanks for catching that. Damn, I knew I missed something. Atleast the youtube covered it, so I hope I don't get cut! hehehe..

Help a brother out next time, let them know if they make any mistakes. I'm open to constructive criticism. ;)

Hahaha.. Watch out for Botti tomorrow when she reads it, you will have sore ankles all day!

In AD forum sense, the resident Spock here is widely accepted to be female.. I think...

Damn MW has been a bit addictive lately hence for the exp terminology earlier, but I'll keep the rest outta this thread ;).

I once saw a gaming forum use experience points as a feature for what level posters were. When they joined, they were Level 1. After making 10 posts, they were promoted to Level 2. Of course, there was a formula for leveling up (the higher you go, the more is required to level up). So, it was interesting seeing how some members were higher level with thousands of posts compared to those who were lower level with few posts. ;)

Anyways, AllDeaf has gone a long way with improving on the quotes feature.

Years ago, members had to reply to each quote individually. If they wanted to include all, they would have to click on the QUOTE button into new tabs and then copy-&-paste each quote into one quote before replying to them all as a multiple-quoted post. I did this a few times in the past before AllDeaf implemented the multi-quoting feature. ;)

:pissed: I did exactly as I instructed. Multi quote the hit only "reply".

I don't know why you thought I am wrong.

Naisho is correct on two counts - I am female. Vampy watch out!

(unless I am wrong)
