Hey I was just wondering how long peoples CI batteries are lasting them...

All brands of processor are welcome and both disposable and rechargeable batteries if you know.

Ill start. With my current mapping which apparently will suck up the juice since I am just in the early programming stages I get about the following useage

Med-El Opus 2 processor
DaCapo rechargeable battery +/- 15 hours
Disposables almost 5 days (that is pulling them out at night and putting the stickers back on...I dont know if that helps but in theory it should slow the drain)

What about you???

It all depends on the person, implant they have and processor.

For me, before my right implant broke, my harmony lasted for at least 5-6 hours (brand new battery), but thats because it was a new processor on older technology. Plus I have always been a heavy power user.

On my left, my harmony lasts around 8 hours (new battery) because its the latest gen implant.

*note, the harmony batteries, talking about the compact size.

With my new n5 processor and cochlear implant, I am getting 12 hours easy with my compact battery (dont actually long how long i can go since i charge them at night). With the standard battery (bigger, i get like 16-18 hours)

My daughter's harmony processors last all day (waking hours) and three or four hours into the next when using the standard rechargeable power cells, and about 10 hours if using the rechargeable compacts. Its kind of cool that they both go dead within a minute of each other when they do go dead.

My Freedom: Rechargeable lasts around 15 hours
: Disposable lasts about 3 days
My N5 on other side : Rechargeable lasts one day and a half
: Disposable lasts about two days

Not too bad.

I have Advanced Bionics-Harmony. The rechargeable batteries last usually to the late evening. I start around 7.00am with about 1 1/2 hours disconnected almost every day-swimming. If I plan on going anywhere in the evening just switch batteries till bed time.
I understand battery life is tied into one's programme. Seems my batteries last longer than my brother who has exactly the same implant.

Implanted A B Harmony activated Aug/07
