How long does your Naida battery last?

Miss Kat has gone through 3 in a little over two weeks. Is it normal that they are only lasting 5-7 days? Our last hearing aid made it three weeks! Is this normal or is something wrong?

The batteries have lasted more than a week for my Naida. Is Miss Kat using an FM system? Maybe the FM is draining the battery quicker.

We have a Naida III, it uses a size 13 battery.

No FM, she wears a neckloop.

Size 13 is typically going to last around a week or so in my experience.

Size 675 (like I'm using now) is literally insane for me and has been lasting at least 2 weeks and I'm always afraid it's just about to run out in an important situation so I haven't let it run completely out yet.

It's crazy because her Oticon's lasted 3 full weeks. Same hearing loss, same batteries, just a different (better!) hearing aid.

Also depends on the brand of (battery cells.) Duracells and Nexxtech last like a week on my Sumo XP... size 675. The ones I got from hearing centres... I think one from Ultima lasts me about 3 months.

Well, the Oticon was 5 years old, made for a moderate, not severe, loss, and just beat all to hell. Supposedly, the Naida is the top of the line, best hearing aid for her loss.

use cochlear implant batteries like powerone..they last a bit longer... i get these for my hearing aids and with sz 13 batteries i change mine every week and a half-2 weeks

mine last a week or so, but my HA's are not digital, digital aids will eat batteries faster , but a week is about the average for people using them full time.

Super power aids that are small eat up the size 13 battery fast. You had a less powerful aid before.

Yep.

Here's a good suggestion... talk to your friends (that use the same battery) and hear what they say. Perhaps, ask to borrow one from them if possible.

If you're not exactly sure which battery lasts the longest, don't buy in bulk.

If one store has Duracell and another has Energizer. Perhaps Rayovac or whatever, try each and see which lasts the longest. Make a note (write on the back of the battery pack) of the date you used each battery.

For me, it's not a problem since each brand is very close for me and the difference is within a few days instead of weeks. The only time it had a shorter life span was because the batteries were old.

I usually get about 2 weeks from size 13 on my Naidas. I did notice that if I use the iCom a lot, batteries tend to run out sooner.

I think it probably depends on how much amplification is being used and in what frequencies. This is just a guess on my part, so I don't know, but it seems to me that lower frequencies require more power to boost. Since I don't need that much gain in the low frequencies, that could be why I get more life out of the batteries?

No. 675's are bigger batteries.

Here's the deal - Phonak made the Naida UP an then realized that there was a need for a hearing aid that was a bit smaller, so they made one - the Naida SP. The power difference isn't that huge I believe and I have heard account of the batteries being eaten alive in the SP's. So yes - it is normal.

With my UP's I go through about one battery a month, but having said that they are in my ears maybe 6 hours a week

I should advise as well that I use the HA in my remaining ear all day every day.

At least 8-10 hours per day if not more.

Naida's have a lot of different features running at the same time. But quality 13's should last at least a week.

my HA battery lasts for about 2 weeks or so. I try and change my battery when i have a feeling that it might go dead on me during the school day or during a band rehearsal/ competition. I use 675s as well. My CI rechargeable batteries lasts for about a day but my disposable batteries lasts for about 3 days which is good because my competitions usually lasts about 1-3 days if its a super regionals or grand nats finals.

If you're too worried about your batteries going dead at the last possible minute when you're going out somewhere, I'd suggest changing your batteries every morning so they would last all day. and at night charge your rechargeable batteries overnight and you can use them again in the morning so they'll be ready for you. I do that every morning everyday before i go to school. I have to figure out which one of my rechargeable batteries are like bad so i can let my dad know i need a new rechargable. Yes it might be a hard thing to remember to do but it might help.

Maybe you already knew, but Powerone has rechargeable size 13 batteries that could save a lot of money.
