After CI Surgery tips

Well, I just had my CI surgery the day before yesterday. Everything is going well. But of course anytime someone has a surgery like this there's going to be some soreness and discomfort. I had one thing happening that was really annoying me and I found a solution for it. So I though it might be a good idea to start this thread so I can share tips. I hope that the title of this post will make it easy for those who will go through this in the future will find this thread and hopefully it'll be helpful to someone.

Here's the problem I had and the solution. When I took the big bandage off that I had to keep on for the first 24 hours. There's another bandage tapes over the incision behind my ear. What happened was some of the blood that drained out onto the bandage hardened. So it the edge of the bandage was like a knife cutting into the back of my ear. My first idea was to have someone cut the edge away but when they looked for me (Of course I can't see it) they said they didn't think it would be a good idea.

So here's the solution to this problem and it worked great. I simply had them wedge some gauze between my ear and the edge of the bandage. So now this sharp edge is no longer making contact. Man, what a relief.

I hope that helps someone who might into the same problem. Please share any tips you discovered when you had your CI surgery.
