Flat cochlear implant?
Today I took my daughter for an audiology appointment to get fitted for her hearing aids. While talking, we got on the subject of Cochlear Implants. The doctor told me that she is eligible for an implant but not the curved one that is placed through the cochlea. My daughter has no cochlea, so they said for her she could receive a flat, straight cochlear implant in that space instead. Has anyone heard of this or know what the name of it is? I was looking online to find some information but couldnt find anything. Thanks!!

The only thing I would imagine they were talking about would be a shorten array. They are for malformed cochlea, or a cochlea without the normal number of turns.
You could look at this: Most Options for Your Surgeon |
