What you're talking about in terms of "do it yourself" hearing aid programming is America Hears. I only know of one ADer who has used AH, so I don't know how much feedback you will receive in regards to them. However, there is a hearing aid message board in which many people have used and have been happy with AH, so you might want to check it out. It's called "Hard of Hearing Issues" and you can locate it by doing a Google search.
