My husband is deaf, he bought the Digital ear piece he had problems with the ear piece from day one, the year warrant is up and we have to pay $180.00 to get the receiver fix.
I called the Corp. office and they said I had to pay this price. Any suggestions to what can I do? |

FYI......
Miracle Ear is owned by Siemens Beltone is owned by GN Resound Most of the time you are fit by a hearing aid dispenser, not an audiologist. Your husbands hearing aid is out of warranty, but when it gets fixed it should come back with a 6mo or 12mo warranty attached to it. Ask the dispenser which he is getting. What exactly is the problem with the aid? Is it dead? |

If you have a medicare or medicaid will cover for hearing aids. Do you want to have an ITC or ITE?? ITC mean In the canal or In the ear. The miracle Ear is for hearing people. They have a hearing loss in mild. I never go to Miracle Ear because I am not hearing. I am deaf. I went to a special audie.

Miracle ear is owned by American Hearing Technologies. They are the low guys on the quality list. You cna find one in many Sears stores. My Miracle Ear has been in and out of the shop numerous times in the 4 years I had it. I've had my Phonaks for the same amount of time and they are still going strong-no shop time.

Siemens and Resound are businesses, Miracle ear and Beltone are simply the "retail" chain extension of their companies. Surprisingly though, my outside Siemens sales rep could not get me the software for miracle ear, he himself who works for the company who owns them doesn't have access to it. |

I havn't been into my dispenser since the place was sold have any of your heard much about Audible? Just wondering since that's the company that my dispenser sold his business to and advertisments make it sound like it has it's own line of HAs? not sure about that tho since as I said I have not been in there. |

a person with a mild/moderate and even just entering the severe range can get good results from ITE's and ITC's. If one is comfortable with them so be it. It is actually nice not to have to worry about wearing glasses and aides from what I've heard. What you like may not be what I like. My 23 yo daughter still wears her digital ITE (could not get ITE's because of small ear canal) A person who has a good size ear canal can get great results from a smaller device. I have a smaller canal and ear structure but did get good results for quite some time, once the hearing dropped into the severe range they ITE's became less helpful and BTE was needed.

Quality I can't speak of, but the technology is shared between the two. Audibel is a sister company of Starkey. |
