New Hearing Aid and Cochlear Implant Forum?
Would you like to see a new hearing aid and cochlear implant forum seperated from AllDeaf.com?
The site would be about all types of hearing loss, different types of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and offer news related to the topics mentioned. That does not mean I'd remove our Hearing Aid and Cochlear Implant forum here on AllDeaf. Cast your vote!!

I voted no because I think we all can benefit from seeing both sides of any issue. It is the way we all learn about each other, and it is how we get a realistic perspective rather than a biased one. Even though the debates sometimes get rather heated
there are many productive discussions that come out of it. If others don't want to see both sides, there are already many sites they can go to where only one side is presented.

I voted no as well. I think it's important that the hearing parents see both sides. Yep, things can get heated but I think forum is the most productive one on the internet and I love the rest of Alldeaf even if I don't post as often in the other forums.

I'm with deafskeptic, on that line of her post, It's important that hearing parents of deaf children gets the understanding of the deaf's generations on what is not working well for the majority of deaf and hard-of-hearing since they don't have a lot of experiencing with the deaf, I don't want to go on two different forums to catch on, one cochlear implant/hearing aids forum is enough so I vote no.

I voted no too, I agree with Deafskeptic, Jillioie and Cheri on this.

I vote no because everything is centralized here at the moment.

I voted "yes" with reservations, because I'm quite tired of all the bickering that goes on.
I have reservations about it being completely separate though because I do think that parents need to be informed and learn from a range of opinions from deaf people and it would be useful for them to go into other areas of the board to read about other issues that relate to deaf people. My preference would be to have this existing board split into debate and support, so that people can ask support questions if they want to, without being expected to debate on it but that debate can still go on "next door". I agree with DD, about the danger that a separate CI/hearing aid board might be too quiet. We also might lose that prelingual/early deafened core group, which I think is something that is unique to this board.
