I am curious

Normally? I wait until I need new hearing aids and then I see how the exam results differs, if any, from the last time I was tested . However, I recently got mine tested because it was one year since my last test and I was curious if it was stable. Kind of wish I didn't do it...

Usually just when going for new hearing aid.

Same here ,but if I feel I my hearing has gotten worst I will have it tested and have my HA volume adjusted . My audi does like to test my hearing once a year but I forget to call for an appointment .

Well..last time was ...probably 30 years ago....:giggle:...even longer....couldn't hear a darn thing.

If it's free, that's not a bad idea, but if you have to pay for it - pass. I got news that it was declining and hit with a $64 dollar bill - for some reason, I thought it'd be fully covered by my insurance. They paid quite a bit but I still didn't like getting a $64 bill. I have better uses for my money....I won't do it again until I'm ready to buy.

My insurance will pay a test once year and when I was getting a bad earache I had a hearing test . But I will not do that again , it was painful listening to all the beeping and the audi was in training and had no idea what she was doing. I can't blame you for waiting to bet a hearing test . It's drag Medicare does not pay for hearing tests , I know you're not that old yet but an audi told me she had people wanting to know why Medicare does not cover HA.

used to do so once every 5 years or so... or when I got new hearing aids.. whichever came first. Just had one done- before that the last one was done 4 years ago (as I was new in town and I also wanted to see how my hearing was doing)... like the above poster.. this time around kind of wish I didn't know. Seems I'm losing quite a bit in the lower frequencies every 5ish years or so...

Hearing tests and new HA's are free here on the NHS, we pay taxes instead anyway thanks for sharing your experiences

I usually got tested every year! (will need to get one soon to be assessed for new hearing aids)

I usually just wait until people complain they are having to yell at me as then its usually time to get my aids adjusted

I've been getting my hearing tested every few months this past year.. about once a year or so prior.

Edit: Sorry, I just realized this is an old thread now..

Don't feel bad, it's still a valid question. I envy anyone that can monitor it every few months....

I would not want to have a hearing test that often , once a year is enough for me.
