Well eggyman having been bumped up 2 weeks is a pleasant surprise. The usual time to wait for healing is about 4 weeks. That is my experience.
The big moment when the externals are hooked up. The only advice: be very patient with yourself as it takes " time" for your brain to "get used to the new sound".Also, very important for you to feed back to your audi exactly what you are "hearing"-to adjust the "mapping" .Much success from here on out-hearing wise! Cheers

Patience!
Eggyman (and others reading...)
The best advice I would give is to be patient. The first 6 months absolutely drug on for me. Every little step forward seemed to take so long, but now that I'm approaching my 4 year surgery anniversary it doesn't seem so long! I'm post lingually deaf so my progress was much better than someone who was born deaf, in fact I scored 100% on my 6 month HINT test!
