The weather has been changing A LOT, and everytime the weather changes my allergies act up, i notice i have a bit of a hard time trying to communicate with people. I lipread a lot, but I noticed that I had a bit of a hard time discriminating sounds. Sometimes with lipreading my eyes kind of gets tired from trying to communicate with them and end up having a hard time understanding them. Does anybody have problems understanding hearing people when the weather changes and your CI acts up from the weather? is that even possible? :hmm:

Yes, it is possible. The following items affect how well I can understand speech:

Migraine headaches - sounds are louder
Ibuprofen/Naproxen - sounds are more clear
Zyrtec (allergy med) - sounds are quieter and less clear
Common cold - sounds are less clear
Common allergy attack - sounds are less clear
Fatigue - sounds are less clear

Talking with hearing people...they get similar results, but they still can hear speech better than we can.

:aw:From my experience with my Cochlear Implant-almost 5 years- haven't noticed a "weather change" in "hearing"-so far.
Don't "appear" to have any allergies.
