Drago to Speak at Trans Pride!

Long-time Deaf Queer / Trans activist Dragonsani Renteria ("Drago") will be one of the speakers at this year's San Francisco Trans Pride March and Rally!

Drago is founder of the national Deaf Queer Resource Center (Deaf Queer Resource Center | Deaf Gays Lesbians Bi Trans) and has devoted a great portion of his time over the past two decades to creating change in the LGBTIQ communities. He is a former board member of FTM International, the Youth Gender Project, and the Rainbow Alliance of the Deaf. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Transgender Law Center.

Drago will be among other notable speakers and performers including Donna Rose, Lynnee Breedlove, SF Pride Board President Mikayla Connell, Thea Hillman, Shawna Virago, SF Police Commissioner Theresa Sparks, Carol Queen, Assemblyman Mark Leno, Senator Carole Migden, and Katastrophe.

The Trans March and Rally, which will be ASL interpreted, takes place on Friday, June 27, 2008, starting at 3 PM at Dolores Park in San Francisco. The march itself begins at 7 PM. More than 10,000 participants are expected. Everyone is welcome at this event!
