Hello, it's me Pikula who introduced herself in the intro forum. I am not only Korean and partially deaf on disability but I am also a lesbian. I have a girlfriend. We've been together for 3 years now. I have a son who is 8 years old from my previous marriage, but we're now divorced for a long time now. I will never date another man after him. He put me through hell. My girlfriend is so awesome and amazing.

Just wanted to introduce myself.

I never understood these kinds of introductions.

Hello, I am Caucasian/American Indian, Severe Hearing loss in both ears, and straight.

I never want to have sex with men either.

I don't think it is ideal to make fun of her because of introduction and she is free to introduce about who is her.

Pikula, welcome to all deaf forum and it is awesome to discuss.

I'm bisexual and I'm very sorry about you had bad experience with previous marriage. :(

I agree...

everyone is free to express themselves as they wish without being mocked. We all are not the same.

Welcome, I too hope to find a girlfriend eventually but I have found (and others like me) that straight women and lesbian women seem to just hate transwomen outright.. :(

I'm trying to keep off disability, but if I don't find a job soon, I just may have to. I digress, nice to meet you. :)

So, I am going to introduce myself as STRAIGHT wherever I go from now on. Then, I will follow up the introduction with, "I only do blondes and redheads, because those brunettes man, they really put me through hell and ya know .. I don't go near them".

Well, if you jump into a GLBT thread yes you should introduce yourself as straight as it likely colors your perception or opinion.

My opinion is you should have kept your first thought (comment) to yourself. It was inappropriate to write what you did when the OP was posting in a GLBT thread. The second comment just makes it worse.

It is my "worsening" opinion that sexuality is a private matter. You can anticipate that my opinion will only get worse.

Never know why sexuality important but glad you found your niche in life try the other thread GLBt

There are other AD members introduced about their sexual orientation in AD forum and it doesn't violate the forum rule, so they can say whatever they want.

brunette man? I'm brunette so wut?

I have a 14 year old niece that is deaf. She goes to a high school that has a program for deaf and hearing impaired students. Now, her teacher asked me for a good resource online and I just cannot in good conscience recommend this forum when sexuality is not considered a private adult matter. Especially when you click "new posts" and it's right there, for minors to see. Just saying.

I think you need to watch your language, and use the proper langauge toward the diversed people. Some of those people want to share their Sexual orientation because out there close ASS minded people who try to destroy others self esteems. How will they meet their OWN people? means??? share!! ENOUGH is ENOUGH.

Your family and your decision. Many kids grow up with same sex parents or other kids have friends who have gay parents. I don't think your 14 year old niece would be as shocked as you are.

Live and let live, brother.....really.........if thats her thing, thats her thing....all cool.
your being a prick man.

I agree... You are true Coloradan guy - live and let live. :cool2:

I definitely have to agree, sexuality does not have anything to do with sex. Hey, if someone wants to go introduce themselves as gay, lesbian, bisexual or even straight every time they speak, go for it! It was an introduction and if someone believes that's an important part of themselves, why not include it? I know I like to get it out in the open before I start talking to people and making friends because some people will judge you off of that. I'd rather get it out there so the people that are going to hate me for something so little can GTFO before we have to put effort into a friendship that isn't going to work out. I'm fine if people want to hate me for something that I can't control, however I don't want to waste my time.

Secondly, I hardly think gay rights are stomping on anyone else's rights. Actually, I know it isn't. You have your rights and I have mine, we are all human and deserve equality no matter what color, religion, country or whatever anyone comes from.
