Your doctor must fix your deviated septum and get rid of your polyps. You will feel a lot better for a whole year. If the polyps grow back, then consider a small laser surgery in the office instead of operation on the bed. Can you ask your parents if they have a polyp in their nasal? It is definitely that has to do with your inhertiance. If they said no, then do they have stuffy nose most of time? If yes, that it could be a possible that one of your parent s has it. If still no, then that would be your first one in your family which mean that your kid will have it someday. Nobody (included doctors) really know why there is a polyp in our body. I better go out for a dinner someone is waiting for me... |

I am sorry that you are dealing with your problem. It is a first time that I read your post about your polyps. I always hate to talk about the polyps because it is so hard for me to figure out how to kill them. No medicine ever kill them. I have a feeling that all pharmacy corporations do not want to kill them because they only want us to continue buying steriod sprayers so that they will make a huge profit.
I had a Vanesane (spell wrong) sprayer which worked very well, but the FDA stopped it. I discovered that Nasonex sprayer has side effects: nasal post drips and coughings. Flonase sprayer is a weak to strink the polyps which is not enough to control them. It is better than nothing. If you feel worse, then you could try Alavert pills - 12 hours instead of 24 (my opinion). It usually helps you to feel a better for a while. My advise is for you to limit amount of steriod spray - not every day. Most doctors say that you need to spray everyday. Less is better that help you to control the polyps. The more you spray everyday that makes the polyps alter a way to defend your spray. I am stunned to learn that the polyps consume water to stay alive. Our body contain about 95 percent of water. Some scientists have a theory that the polyp is related to a fungi classification. Drug info: http://www.emedicine.com/ped/topic1550.htm I decided to become a vegetarian a couple of years ago because most foods contain high corn fruit syrup, corn, junk food, some cheeses, and many other food that are hidden that we don't know what is in it. These foods that cause polyps grow bigger. It takes two weeks for the polyps back to the same size as "original." You might want to avoid eating meats and regular milk because of allergy due BGH hormone and others. I don't feel like explaining it to you because I don't know you. Soymilk and rice milk are good. Organic milk is considered to be okay. Never buy Hood milk and some other regular milk. Ice cream is fair - some stores add Hood milk in the ice cream because it is cheap for them to buy. Raw cheeses are safe. That's enough for me to tell you... |

Yes you can lose your hearing from a fall. My boyfriend is a Chiropractor and it is a known fact that a subluxation (bones out of place) can cause many health related problems. Many times with regular Chiropractic adjustments it will help improve or restore vision, hearing, get rid of headaches and migraines, get rid of ear infections, sinus infections, and improve immune system. If you have bones out of place it blocks the normal nerve flow and nerve impulses which can cause many problems. Chiropractic adjustments are very important for improving and maintaining overall health. Most Chiropractors accept medicare and other types of insurance. Most also have very affordable payment plans. You should get checked by a chiropractor. Good luck!!

Sinus infection been going around a lot lately, I even had it and still with the strep throat, but not too bad, but during the Christmas weekend, I end up in the hospital with 103.2 temperature, I had a strep throat, sinus infection, and pink eye. What a Christmas I've had. I've getting better, but slowly recovering.
![]() Hope the rest of you who are experience with having sinus infection, get well soon! ![]()

I'm sorry you were sick during Christmas, but am glad you're on the mend! I've only had strep throat once in my life. At the time, I also had a sinus infection *and* a bilateral ear infection. I couldn't talk for a month (due to laryngitis) and it took forever to get rid of the bilateral ear infection. Thankfully, I haven't had strep throat or a sinus infection since. I've never had pink eye before, but I know people who have. Not fun. ![]() I hope you're feeling better soon! ![]()

I am really glad that your operation was successful. I had one, too, but it was not successful for me because my doctor was no good. He had a sloppy job for not finishing removing other polyps. I remember I breathed so much better for one year. I had smell from foods, flowers, odors, and some others. I loved it. I believe that your operation is successful because your doctor knew how to do the right thing. Now, what is this spray (Neilmed) for? |

You know most doctors here almost never do their homework to find out what's the cause because they request the information from above their boss or from FDA's top doctors. I met an allergy doctor two weeks ago at a lecture, and he recommended me to buy a steroid spray. Later, I realized that there was a nose spray advertisement on TV that he talked about same name of the spray. I can't believe it and realized that the doctor must have seen it on TV because he just immediately believe it without a question in his mind. Of course, he didn't do his homework. |

I had nasal sinus problems while I was pregnant with my daughter not long ago, and he recommoned me to use "sudfed" low dose. After my daughter was born it went away, just like captial tunnel went away and all the fluid. But I still get sinus problems due to other allgeries such as pine trees, ragweeds, pollen and dust. It's really a pain in the neck.

Revival
I'm reviving Purr Meow's thread. I've had sinus problems for most of my life. A few months ago, I was diagnosed with a deviated septum and nasal polyps. I tried medical treatment for the condition, but I'm still getting sinus infections about every two weeks. Therefore, I opted to have surgery for the removal of the polyps. The surgery will take place this Wed. It will be outpatient. I will be home by the evening, and since I'm not having a general anesthetic (just being sedated with IV meds), I *may be* able to post by the evening. I'm writing this to see if anyone has had this surgery an |
