Feeling kind of sad... Our last ASL class is tomorrow evening. Then we wait until the deaf advocacy agency can generate funds to have another series of classes. In the meantime, with our new friends, we'll try to keep practicing the vocabulary we've learned so we don't forget it.

I have been very slow and lethargic today. I think all these air pressure changes from Tropical Storm Debby are really affecting me. Even my daughter is having a massive headache through this like she always does with air pressure changes.

I feel completely fantastic! Do have a tiny bit of a headache, but I think I just need to get more water in me, which I'm working on. But for the most part, just happy giddy weeeeee!

Feeling o.k. today. It's my husband's birthday , so I am going shopping. Plus we have our last class potluck party in ASL tonight, too. Happy stuff to do today!

Feeling like, why *me?!?* On June 7 went in to contract for new aids and get new impressions made for the molds. All supposed to be back to the audiologist within two weeks. Didn't hear from them by the end of last week, so I emailed to ask. Turns out they used the U.S. Post Office *without* sending with delivery confirmation, to the mold making coming. The impressions they made June 7th never arrived. So, when they checked with the mold making company after my email, they found out my impressions never showed up. So now I have to go in for new impressions today. And wait again. They said they would FedEx overnight and hopefully the company will expedite the order. The aids have arrived at the audiologist's. I was hoping this weekend to try out the new aids which supposedly have a feature to help hearing in noisy restaurants, etc., when we go out w/ family for my husband's birthday. So I wouldn't be as frustrated trying to follow communication as I have been. Trying to stay up mood-wise and not dwell on my frustration and disappointment. Life is still good, after all!

Can you use your old molds with the new aids while you are waiting? I realize if you are needing new molds you may well get some additional feedback with the old ones. But, the additional features of the new aids seem that they would be welcome anyway.

Im sleepy..only had 4 full hrs of sleep and drove one hr to my dental appointment.. nasty outside but Im so used to it. Being healthy helps a lot to deal with the heat. I wore my beach sandals to my appointment.

How strange. This is exactly what my post would say. No sleep, drove an hour to the dentist and it is super hot outside. I need to add that some idiot ran into the back of my car at the McDonalds drive thru. It was a good bump, but I thought getting out and trying to discuss it all, would have been too hard. So I guess the "idiot" got lucky today.

Unfortunately, no. The old molds are 3 years old and don't fit well, so I get feedback much sooner when I need to up the volume. Plus they are starting to make my ears itch a bit. Eventually even hypoallergenic molds begin to break down and not fit well. My audiologist agreed with me yesterday when she made the impressions that I couldn't really give the new aids a good trial until I had the new molds. She warned me that because I'm getting cheaper aids ($3500 vs. the $5000 8 years ago), even though new technology, the quality of sound may not be the same as even my old ones that no longer meet my hearing needs. So, I don't know what to expect. Can't afford the $6000 version of what I have now. If the quality of sound is worse than missing words with my current old digitals, I can return the new aids, cancel the 12 month loan, and get my $500 deposit back, I guess. (I have 30 days to evaluate the new aids.) And just keep on going until my old ones stop working.

Good luck RR. You are a super positive person, you can do it!!!They make it so hard for people to smoke here in California. You have to be what I believe is 30-40 feet away from any public entrance. I always see a group of smokers sitting around a tree in the parking lot at our mall. Pretty soon, they will move them up to the roof!!

I'd say depends on what kind you buy....I'm on the Carolina Tobacco taste and went for the "mild" ones....A friend used to smoke Marlboro Reds, and they are strong, so he opted for the strong taste....they made me cough and cough, but the "mild" ones do not...and I don't inhale the vapor at all...just blow it out....Another friend has been on the ET ciggs since April....but still saving $$....Am hoping my mind control will kick in about a week or so and not have to smoke anything. I've quit several times, the longest for 9 months....and the doctor has told me that I've got to quit permanently.
