I have to make mine too. I got elected to host Thanksgiving this year. Oh joy. Last time I made a turkey, I had it facing up the wrong way. No wonder why it didn't cook right. I can only hope this year is better (p.s. I am FABULOUS with green beans, potatoes, ham, etc. so we know THAT is all coming out perfect. Just say a prayer for the turkey, please.)

That's how our first Thanksgiving as a married couple began. With both sides of the family there.

Then there was the time the Border Collie ate the center of a marble sheet cake. (Everyone decided to just eat the edges anyway. That was my mother in law's idea. Nobody died.)

I actually consider myself a creative cook, and do well. But the basics, like a turkey? Forget it.

Got my shopping done. Feel like I forgot some things since it was only $54.

Not tooting my own horn here, but so far *knock on wood* I have not made a mistake with any of my turkeys. Family always liked them except for MIL. She wants it to be cooked a lot longer and claims I made it too juicy. I cook as long as the time should be and use my meat thermometer and I love juicy meat. My mother is surprised that I do so well with turkey since I never learned to cook it from her. I hated turkey until after I had kids.

Due to bum hip/pain pills I stayed in bed for most of the day. I didn't get up until 5pm. I'll be unable to sleep now...great. Although I'm not supposed to return to work until tuesday I'm going in monday morning. I really, really do not look forward to work this week. Not only because of my hip but I really, really just do not want to see a certain person that'll be there. I'm not sure why I dread seeing this person I just know that I do. Can't pinpoint it. The poor person gives me literal anxiety and panic attacks. It IS NOT FUN.

I've been told it's intution. Yeah, well I wish I had been able to see that I would have injured my hip in advance. ok, ok. I'm outta here. Back to bed. Pissy mood!

I feel the same shock whenever I am able to walk out of Walmart spending less than $70.

Had my weekly ASL lesson today. Oh, my head feels like mush! Today my teacher practiced fingerspelling, but he picked out words from Web MD magazine!

Arranged a family dinner for tomorrow, arranged to visit my mother in law on Wednesday, was visited by my daughter and my youngest granddaughter.
Getting ready to go out to dinner a little later.

Pleasant day so far. Just taking a little break now to check up on all of you!

heh...well I went to work this morning only to be sent home by the boss because I was not supposed to be there until tuesday and " you need to follow your doctors orders..." Goodness. I appreciate the fact that my boss actually cares so maybe it's not such a crap job. I'm having my second thoughts now.
