If things had gone the way I originally planned, I would have graduated from college by age 21-22, got a job, gotten married around aged 25-27, and had kids when I turned 29/30.

Well that just didn't happen at all! Honestly, now I don't think I will ever get married again. People ask me all the time if I ever think about getting married again. I have to tell them 'no'. I just don't see myself as doing that again. I think I'll just be a lone wolf that raises her only cub on her own.

I do have to say, that if hubby and I were to ever split up (not even thinking about it at all), I would never marry again. There would be too much expected from me that I would not be willing to put out.

Hubby's grandmother was 15 when she married. Her husband was 17 at the time. They were married for 75 years before he died and she went 10 years after that. During their marriage, she got pregnant 8 times and was only able to carry 3 to full term. They were the first 3 pregnancies. She was 16,18 & 21 for those. She was 22,24,25,27 & 28 for the miscarriages. It wasn't until after the 5th miscarriage they found out why she lost them all. Seems her arthritis was making itself known then and her bones were not strong enough. She was put into a wheelchair at age 30 due to arthritis.

I'm thinking I want something sweet to eat, but there is nothing here and I can't have a chocolate bar. bummer!! Trying to decide if I want to venture out to 7-11 for something or to just be good and stay home.

Giving up and going to bed early. IT has been a long day and tomorrow promises to be just as bad, but no driving.

I'm thinking about having to go to the farm early tomorrow, then set up my boss's new computer for her then I will be done at the farm until next friday night when they bring the new flock of chickens in. I hope and pray to God I'm off the farm before then. I really don't want to go back to working 6 days a week after having three Saturdays off in a row. If I stayed for this flock, it would be this time again next year before I would see another free Saturday.

Thinking MIL and mother are both very lucky. They both fell a little while ago. Mom in her bedroom, but landed face first on her bed. Scraped her lower leg a little and thank the Lord, it was not the leg she had all her surgeries on. Just minor scrapes and they have been totally scrubbed clean and all kinds of antibiotics on it and bandaged thanks to me, "Dr. Mommy". All my CNA training is really coming into a lot of use with her. As for MIL, she lost her footing going from the bathroom to bedroom. She landed a little crookedly on a hip, but is able to move. We got her up and she can walk, but is in a little pain. Called her Doc, and he advised us to giver her a pain pill and get her to bed. He wants me to call tomorrow when she gets up to give a status. He thinks it one of her knee replacements that needs to be replaced again.

That's too much falling for one household! I hope they will be OK.

IT's been something else around here. MIL has fallen like a total of 8 times since May. This is my mother's first fall since June 2008. My daughter falls a lot on her bike due to balance issues and I fall at least 3 times a week due to my neuropathy.

I called my mother's doctor and he was not very worried as he knew I would take care of it. Said to call him if I felt she needed to be seen. MIL is embarrassed about it and is laughing at herself, so I know she's not hurt too bad. I'm sure they will both be fine.

That's no fun. I hope they both feel much better soon.

Don't make me come down there and bubble-wrap everything for you! I just don't want someone to break something (namely themselves) and end up having an extensive stay in a nursing home or rehabilitation center, or have to spend a lot of time on bed rest.

Either of them isn't very fun.

Too true. Mom spent 4 weeks in the hospital and 3 weeks in a nursing home after this issue with her leg.

I have learned to fall so as to not cause major injury. I know which knee gives out, so I turn in a specific way to fall more protectively. Daughter is thinking about giving up her bike and just walking. MIL can't have her knee replaced until she loses weight and she has no will power to succeed at that. She is thinking it's time for a wheelchair. That means her carpet has to come up. My mother's was just a freak accident and I don't think will be repeated.

Though my hubby likes your idea of bubble wrapping the house.

Take it easy on the wine, Kristina.......and check ur Mother and MIL's room for any bottles hidden in there!...You know that a lot of ol' ladies like a nip before bedtime here and there....Check and re-check their apron pockets for those little small bottles of whiskey, too!....Give them a nightly "breathalyzer" test....

Seriously, tho'...getting old and falling often is dangerous.

I mentioned my falls to the doctor today. HE wants me to have some more tests and I have to pick up the referral forms. He doesn't think it's anything they can help with, just a confirmation of sorts. He is also suggesting that I move to a scooter to get around. I may seriously check into that.

Tell your hubs to go to the Post Office and ask for a roll of giant packing bubble wrap and he can just do it room by room!

As for the scooter, what are you gonna do if you fall off your scooter?

I only ask this because I had a friend that managed to fall off a stationary bike a few years ago.

Thinking... I am so proud of my Daughter. (Yes, I am on my bragging soap box.) She is in 14 and in the 9th grade. She will start her duel enrollment in January and will start on a program with UF to get her going. Another words, she will start taking college courses in January. She will actually go to UF a few times during the school year and spend a week there during the summer on Campus.

The only reason I fall is due to a knee going out. I don't think I would be standing on the scooter.

But, it might be interesting to try.

Congrats! And know ur "proud as a peacock"!! My son did the same thing last year, 14 and in the 9th grade....and taking college courses. He was "bombed" with homework every night, 2-3 hours of it. This year, he opted out, but is still in the all A honor program and a 4.0 GPA...hope ur daughter can stick it out, as I know it won't be easy...
