Maybe they just thought it was a cute baby and a cute picture. There are many people who find babies to be cute/adorable/whatever. Not necessarily a creepy thing. Unless you know something about that person you haven't divulged.

My Zumba teacher doesn't know this person. That's my point if a stranger clicks like on your fb pic, and you maybe, like who is this person ? You know what I mean?

I see what you mean, and I have mine set so only friends can look at my photos.

I do see pictures of friends of friends on my friends page. (Weird sentence , sorry.)

So maybe they liked it on your page, but it shows on your teacher's page also.

Right, I don't think my Zumba teacher has her pics on private I clicked "like" and someone from my friend list clicked it too. That pic is on her page not mine. How would you feel to see an unknown person's name on you fb that is what I mean.

Right, I see. If it were me, I would then tighten my privacy controls. I haven't had that problem, as I do use very tight controls at FB.

I think it would depend on the pic. If it were a normal pic I might have a problem with it. If it is a pic with a funny caption or a pic of the baby with a bowl of ice cream on their head that "like" might make more sense. Either way they should change their privacy settings.

I am thinking about how in hell to play like this, especially at 2 35, when he demonstrates what he's doing when he plays.

Question

Wondering whether the frustration in ASL class last Wednesday night (the teacher went completely "off the rails" as to sticking to our current text chapter and working with the vocabulary in the next chapter and with what we have been learning and practicing). Instead she did something completely off the wall that a lot of us did not understand at all. And she decided to refuse to write instructions on the board and just signed it with signs WE DID NOT KNOW. It was some kind of game and we were divided into teams. The more experienced signers (they always show up even if it's supposed to be a *beginner's* class) had a lovely time. The rest of us sat there like lumps, getting really frustrated. I was in tears when I left at the end of class. The teacher kept apologizing to us. She knew she'd really screwed it up. Made me consider not returning to class on Monday...

So... the next day after that debacle, my husband & I went in to see my audiologist, who has been waiting for a new model hearing aid that is half the cost of the full feature digitals. (We have a thread about the cost of hearing aids & why spend the money, and I will post more specifics there). So we talked and discussed and ended up getting a no interest 1 year loan for the new aids. I just am not ready to give up on technology to keep me chugging along in the hearing world...especially after confronted at just how ignorant I am in ASL...

But I wonder if my feeling so out of it in ASL class, so isolated because of what the teacher did, like I had been beamed into a foreign country and had no clue of language to communicate, drove me to override my initial mindset to just keep the old aids and just let go of new technology. And indebted us for year just out of reaction.

That nasty people who yell at autistic people about their lack of empathy, should not be employed in a capacity where the work with autistic people.

I woke up with remembering the end of a nice dream... I was dreaming we had a number of people over, all ASL students like us, and we had snacks out, and we were all just sitting around relaxed, and signing to each other, pantomiming for what signs we didn't know, but having a good time. No feelings of discouragement at all. I woke up smiling. And I think my subconscious was telling me not to give up, keep going...

I think you are spot on! Don't let one person's bad day get in the way of you accomplishing your goals. You will get it. Continue practicing, and keep your chin up. If your teacher signs something you don't understand, don't be afraid to "speak up". You need to ask those questions when you don't understand something. It doesn't mean you're unintelligent, it means you're determined to gain fluency in a new language.

Is your teacher Deaf? Have you thought about expressing how that situation felt to her/him? It sounded like a counter-productive exercise...

Yes, our teacher is Deaf, voice off. And by the end of class, seeing tears of frustration from a number of us, she fully understood her "exercise" did *not* work as intended. Will see how class is tomorrow night.

Do you ask questions when you don't understand a new sign? I noticed majority of the people in my classes tend to sit there, rather than getting the teachers attention and asking what a new sign meant. I don't know if thats the case for you guys, but if so- don't be afraid to ask. Tears of frustration are no

I'm thinking about selling my soul for some caffeine... I'm a hardcore addict and it's been almost four days with none.. aaagh!

I'm also incredibly frustrated with school. I was told my financial aid money would be released to me today, and this morning I was told it will be released next Monday... ugh I have rent to pay, food and diapers to buy... guess we're living on pancakes for the rest of the week and hoping for my landlords to smile on me with kindness..

Power outage!! Boo Not happy. I was looking forward to watching some quality programming tonight- Real Housewives of NY.

I guess that means early to bed for me. Darn people don't know how to handle a little heat, and crank their AC up as high as it will go.

I hope it comes back on soon...

That a large percentage of hearing women who newly join, can't afford to buy shirts. Although they do have internet and webcams.
